Plot
In sixteenth-century Japan, an impoverished farming village lives under the constant threat of bandits who return each year to steal its harvest. With no money and no means of defending themselves, the villagers search for samurai willing to protect them in exchange for little more than food.
A veteran warrior assembles six other samurai and begins preparing the village for battle. As warriors and farmers learn to work together, divisions of class, fear and distrust slowly give way to a shared struggle for survival. Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai is a monumental epic about courage, sacrifice, honor and solidarity that profoundly influenced generations of filmmakers.
