Plot
After a painful breakup, Elizabeth finds refuge in a small New York café, where she meets its owner, Jeremy. Over late-night conversations and slices of blueberry pie, an unexpected intimacy begins to develop between them. Yet Elizabeth decides to leave the city behind and embark on a journey across America.
Working in bars and restaurants along the way, she encounters people carrying their own stories of love, loneliness and loss. In his first English-language feature, Wong Kar Wai brings his unmistakably romantic and melancholic style to the American road movie, crafting a tender story about heartbreak, connection and the distances we sometimes need to travel before finding our way home.
